Top comic-ventriloquist Nina Conti, Tim Key, Kevin Eldon, Liam Williams and charismatic Kiwi Jarred Christmas descend on the Union Chapel, Islington.

• Sunday 2 – Max and Ivan's Roffle Club
A top quality sketch and character comedy nights at Leicester Square Theatre.

• Sunday 3 – Laughing Horse New Act Final
A bulging night of top new comics, always a good show.

Thursday 7 – Simon Amstell
Of Amstell's three-night run at the Shepherd's Bush Empire, this is the only date with tickets still available.

Friday 8 – David O'Doherty Is Looking Up
Whimsy behemoth, 2008 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner and 1990 East Leinster under 14 triple jump bronze medalist returns to the Bloomsbury. Only single seats left. Call 020 7388 8822 to book.

Monday 11 – Happy Mondays (Edinburgh previews)
James Acaster and Andrew Maxwell preview their Edinburgh Fringe shows.

Sat/Sun 15/16 – Always Be Comedy Comedy Festival
A two-day bonanza of comedy in Kennington featuring acts such as Jigsaw, Nick Helm, Pat Cahill, Sara Pascoe, and Max and Ivan.

A bumper-sized night of comedy in aid of Freightliners city farm, with Alan Davies (pictured), Rich Hall, Isy Suttie, Jo Brand, Phill Jupitus, Tiffany Stevenson, Ian Stone and Roisin Conaty.

Saturday 16 – 99 Club Islington
With Patrick Monahan, Stephen Carlin, Josh Widdicombe and MC Matt Green.

Wednesday 20 – Laugh Till It Hurts in aid of Crisis
A charity fundraiser featuring Paul Tonkinson, amazing physical comedy duo Pajama Men, raving storyteller Paul Foot, Terry Alderton, Robin Ince, Alex Horne and Jen Brister.

Thursday 28 – The Best in Stand-Up
At the Comedy Store tonight are MC Andre Vincent, Philberto, Terry Alderton, Paul Sinha, Mike Wilmot and more.

Wednesday 13– Knock2Bag (Shepherd's Bush)
A very special secret guest headlines ... plus confrontational clown Dr Brown, comedy curiosity Brian Gittins, Damien Slash, top musical comic Rob Carter, Bob Slayer and MC Ed Gamble. Knock2Bag's Bethnal Green gig on the 29th looks tasty too.

Friday 29 – Banana Cabaret
Balham's hardy perennial welcomes no-nonsense US comic Dave Fulton, the roguish Carl Donnelly, Gordon Southern and Nish Kumar.

Various dates – Stand Up for the Week warm-ups
Jon Richardson and his Channel 4 colleagues continue their cheap warm-up gigs ahead of recording.

Various dates – Udderbelly
Chocka block with great comedy, that cow. Particularly of note are: Pete Firman (1st), Nina Conti (6th), The Boy With Tape On His Face (8th and 29th) and Andy Zaltzman's Political Animal (29th).

Various – Soho Theatre
No sign of a let-up in the Soho's strong year. Andrew Maxwell's show (14th-28th) is AMAZING and the star attraction so make sure you catch that, there is also Magnus Betner (20th-2nd), US star Todd Barry (4th-9th) and new late-night show Comedy Bonk (30th).

Various dates – Austentatious
The fantastic Jane Austen pastiche show appears at the London Zoo Lates in June and July, as well as its residency at the Wheatsheaf pub.
