The Spotlight on... Toulson and Harvey

Thursday, October 29 2009

They're a double act who do sketches, Fleetwood Mac-esque they have recently reformed, and they bagged the 2005 Perrier Best Newcomer Award, that's right, it's Toulson and Harvey!

Name: Toulson&Harvey.

Where do you live?: Toulson – London Bridge. Harvey – Essex.

How long have you been gigging?: Since 2005, but that includes a two- year period when we didn't speak to each other.

What do you do?: Rehearsed dicking-about.

Who makes you laugh?: Fry & Laurie.

At which London venues do you usually appear?: We do new material every Monday at the Soho Comedy Club, Leicester Square. And then all over London the rest of the week.

What is your favourite London venue?: A bit of a soft-spot for the Hen & Chickens by Highbury Corner – that's where we did our first ever gig.

Name an over-rated and an under-rated comedian: Ross Noble over-rated. In this country, Louis CK under-rated.

What should you be famous for?: Some horrible, sell-out advert, but we've never been given the opportunity.

Which celebrity do you look like?: Toulson – Nicholas Lyndhurst. Harvey – Steve Coogan.

Whose sex face would you least like to see?: Nicholas Lyndhurst.

Audiences love it when… Steve sings.

Audiences hate it when… Luke plays the guitar (unfortunately these two things occur simultaneously).

And here's their website.
