10 Questions with... Andre Vincent
Not everyone at the Edinburgh Fringe are night owls, some are up at sparrowfart, doing comedy. Namely André Vincent, Marcus Brigstocke and Carrie Quinlan, who peruse the morning papers, discuss the latest news and distribute coffee and croissant each day in The Early Edition
What is your show, The Early Edition about?
It's about an hour long.
Why did you decide to do a show about this?
No audience deserves anything longer with our sanctimonious rantings.
How ready is it?
We have been doing it for four years now, though it is different everyday depending on the news obviously and I would imagine it will be ready by 2012.
If your show was a dog, what kind of dog would it be?
An old pitbull, it should be sinking it's teeth into something and not letting go. Unfortunately we are always distracted in either licking our nuts or smellin' dem bitches.
Complete this sentence: "If you like (blank) then you'll like my show"
Watching monkeys trying to type Shakespeare
Is the Edinburgh Comedy Award important to you?
Fuck no, I hate everything about it. It is wrong on so many levels and after threatening Lewis Schaffer with a writ it proves it has no sense of humour either.
Which other acts would you recommend this year?
Nick Doody, John Gordillo, Glenn Wool anyone with a point of view.
What is the most frightening thing about the Edinburgh Festival?
That Danny Bhoy gets an audience.
Any tips on where to get the best pint or pie in Edinburgh?
Best food in Edinburgh is the Atrium at The Traverse. It's a bit pricey but if you need that moment to work out why the hell you are there, it is the best place to work it out.
Sum up the festival in one word
Unavoidable
The Early Edition is on from August 7-30 at 12:25 at the Udderbelly Pasture. Click here for tickets
