10 Questions with Dead Cat Bounce

Wednesday, August 25 2010

Irish comedy rock supergroup Dead Cat Bounce will fun old hour of musical comedy, and with just a few shows to go, they answer EiF's 10 Questions

Dead Cat Bounce

EiF: What is your show about?
DCB: It’s a comedy rock 'n' roll spectacular with big riffs, tight pants and lots of smoke and lights. Think Mötley Crüe circa 1986, except on a very tight budget and with jokes.

EiF: Describe it in three words.
DCB: Style, quality, excellence.

EiF: What's your favourite part of it?
DCB: The bit when we all stand up from our stools at the key change.

EiF: Complete this sentence: "If you like not-paedophiles, then you'll like our show."

EiF: Is the Edinburgh Comedy Award important to you?
DCB: To say that Edinburgh Comedy Award is important to us would be a colossal understatement. It is the most important thing in the world to us. It is our drive, It is our focus. It is our purpose. If we do not win the award this year then we will have failed. Not just as comedians, but as men.

EiF: What is your Edinburgh daily regime?
DCB: Wake up. Shit. Shower. Shit. Moisturise. Shit. Lunch. Shit. Nap. Shit. Shower. Shit. Do show. Drink. Drink. Drink. Shit. Go to bed. Wake up. Shit. Go back to bed.

EiF: What's your favourite spot in Edinburgh?
DCB: Frankenstein’s – shots in test tubes, anamatronic monsters and karaoke downstairs. There isn’t much more you could ask of a night-club.

EiF: What advice would you give to an Edinburgh virgin?
DCB: It is the culture here to accept every flyer that you are given. Locals consider it very rude if you do not at very least take a flyer, and in most instances you will be accepted to go and see their show. Having said that a good place to escape all this is the Royal Mile at around midday.

EiF: Name 3 other comics you would recommend seeing.
DCB: Jarlath Regan, Sam Simmons, and Asher Treleavan.

EiF: Sum up how you feel about this year’s Edinburgh in one word.
DCB: Invictus.
